Section 232

A US trade-remedy statute allowing the President to impose tariffs or quotas on imports deemed to threaten national security. Section 232 tariffs are currently active on steel, aluminum, and (since April 2026) copper. Stacks on top of base HTSUS duties and other Section 301 tariffs.
